Tennis Rules & Regulations

  1. RESERVATIONS
    1. During pool operating hours, all players who desire reservations must register at the shack prior to entering the courts.  During the off season, courts are reserved on the web site and may be made one month early.
    2. Courts may not be reserved for more than 1.5 hours unless the reservation is part of a function, practice, or other group event.
    3. Players without reservations must yield the courts to waiting members after 1 hour of play or at the reserved time for the next match.
    4. Courts may be reserved one week prior to playing during the pool season. Eno sponsored programs may reserve at any time.
    5. Members under the age of 13 may reserve and play on courts 4-6 on an equal basis with adults.  Members under age 13 must vacate courts 1-3 if requested to do so by an adult player.
    6. Anyone not claiming their court time within 15 minutes of their reservation will forfeit their reservation.
    7. Club sponsored events must leave 1 court available for member play unless the formality of the event demands otherwise.
  2. COURT RULES
    1. The following are not permitted on the tennis courts:  profanity, unsportsmanlike conduct, excessive noise, food, and smoking.
    2. USTA tennis rules apply to any formal match play.
    3. Shirts and shoes are required on the tennis courts.
    4. Bicycles, skates, and skateboards are not allowed on the tennis courts.
    5. The nets must be left at regulation height.
    6. The courts are self-maintained. Please leave the courts in an equal or better condition than when you arrived.  Everyone’s help is needed policing the courts and emptying full trash containers during the off-season.
    7. The contents of the tennis storage building are not for general usage unless otherwise allowed.
    8. The last person to leave the courts must ensure that all gates and tennis buildings are locked and lights are off.
    9. Please be courteous to formal lessons and those who work with the ball machines.  Players should move to the back courts if they do not require the ball machines.
    10. Court 3 will be left open when formal activities use 5 courts.
    11. The tennis court must be closed during lightening and weather conditions that close the pool operations.

    4. Club sponsored team play must be open to all members who qualify for the required skill level as determined by the instructor/coach. A formal tryout to determine ability will determine any team assignment.  The tennis chairperson has the final decision authority for any placement issues.
    5. Members must be notified of organized events three weeks before any acceptance of non-members to ensure appropriate time to identify member players.  Any two of the following methods should be used for needed communications:  the Eno tennis e-mail service, notice on the web site tennis pages, direct mailing, or newsletter articles.
    6. Club sponsored team play may invite non-members to play on club teams so long as insufficient members are available for play.  Once the member notification period of 3 weeks is completed and non-members are placed on Eno-based teams, the non-member has an equal right to play as members.
    7. Juniors Teams are limited to 12 members.

    6. Members must take care to understand the safety operations of all equipment and instruct any minors near the equipment on safe usage.
    7. Adult members are asked to monitor any minor using the tennis equipment owned by the club.  Adult members are responsible to instruct their children on proper usage of all equipment.
